I did this performance during three hours in the course of the 2014 Christmas holiday period, in Paris. Holding a sign-post saying ‘Faites-moi une bise S.V.P.’ (Give me a French kiss please), I went up to passers-by in the public space. The idea was born as a result of my confrontation with the act of kissing people hello a daily gesture in France that seems strange to me with the proximity of bodies and of the mouths that it induces. This daily gesture, banal, common, could appear to be tender, but it hides, from my perspective, some type of violence.
